Pastoral Care

At Mayville Primary School we have the responsibility for the safety and welfare of all pupils while on the school premises during the school day.

Pastoral care is not only concerned with the physical well being of your child but also their social and emotional well being.  We encourage the children to discuss their concerns and problems with staff, however small. There is confidential adult counselling for the children available. If you perceive your child has concerns about school please do not hesitate to contact us.

Parental contact information must be kept up to date.  If a parent/carer or any other emergency contact for your child changes their telephone number or address, please inform the school office as soon as possible.  In the event of an emergency it is vital that we can contact you immediately.

At Mayville Primary School we have 40 qualified First Aiders in the school.  We also have 12 Level 3 Paediatric First Aiders  who treat children who become ill or injured.  Parents will be contacted if any illness or injury is thought to be other than that of a minor nature.  We only allow medicines prescribed by the doctor in school and if they need to be administered during the school day, we require the parents to sign a form at the main office giving their permission.

We have a strict policy that all visitors sign in at the main reception.
