NUT have called for a day of national industrial action.  This will take place on 26 March 2014.  This is part of the unions' dispute with the government around proposals for changes to their pay, workload and conditions of service.  The governing body at the school have carefully assessed the likely impact of this stricke action on Mayville School.  Unfortunately, following this careful assessment and based upon the number of staff likely to be absent from work we have determined that we have no option but to the close the school to the students on this day.

Whilst this significant inconvenience is outside the control of the governing body I would nonetheless like to apologise for this.
