At present this club is not running this term.
Eco-committee members are volunteers from all classes in KS1 and KS2, who care about and want to improve our local and global environment.
Mayville is working toward becoming an Eco-school and this is driven by the Eco-committee, headed by their steering group drawn mainly from year six children.
To become an Eco-School, we have to fulfil certain environmental criteria in nine areas of the school, ranging from energy and water conservation, school grounds and biodiversity to waste and litter and eco-friendly procurement. We have reached the bronze award level and are now working toward silver and after that the ultimate ‘Green Flag’.
In order to take this forward, we are drawing up an environmental audit and an action plan.
Any parents who could help with after school meetings and/or any other support with environmental measures, please get in touch with the school office.
Over the years, ‘Eco-children’ have been involved in ‘Making a Difference Challenge’ and Climate week activities, litter picking in the local area and we were finalists in the ‘Green Schools; Waltham Forest ‘Love Your Borough’ awards.
